WSB Merito University representatives Dr Krzysztof Koj, Dr Roman Łosiński and Krzysztof Sajon attended the European Association for International Education (EAIE) 2024 conference in Toulouse. This was one of the largest events in the world dedicated to the internationalisation of higher education, bringing together more than 6,000 participants from 90 countries.
- The conference addresses key themes such as the development of technology, generational change, and the competencies of the future. Particular attention is paid to the need to balance technological competencies with the skills of judgment, reasoning, abstract thinking, creativity, relationship building, teamwork and intercultural communication. At present, it is the ‘soft competencies’ that are the competitive advantage of humans and provide the opportunity to use the computing power of artificial intelligence, emphasises Dr Krzysztof Koj.
Discussions also focused on marketing and anti-marketing in higher education and the challenges of standardising educational processes while maintaining academic freedom. Strategies for remote learning and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), which promotes international cooperation in remote projects, were also an important element.
Representatives from WSB Merito University also participated in the education fair at the stand of the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), where they presented the university's offer, met partners and made new contacts.
