Visa

If you want to study in Poland you should have a visa entitling you to enter the territory of Poland. You will obtain a visa in a Polish embassy in your country of residence, or a neighboring country. The visa is granted on the basis of the decision of the Embassy or Consulate and admission into studies in Poland.

More information and requirements for Visa application process you might find on the website of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs - https://www.gov.pl/web/diplomacy/polands-missions-abroad

Step 1

Apply for studies and provide necessary documents by uploading them directly to your online application via the Candidate Account. There is no need to visit the Admissions Office in person. Should you have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at study@poznan.merito.pl.

Step 2

Proceed with the payment of the enrollment fee and tuition fee, and submit the proof of payments. The deadline for the tuition fee payment is specified in the agreement provided to you during the online registration process.

IMPORTANT:
Please ensure that the transfer title includes your full name and surname, along with the name of the program. Failure to provide this information may result in difficulties verifying your payment and could lead to delays in the admission process.

You will receive an ADMISSION DOCUMENTS with all the details concerning your further steps.
The deadline for the tuition fee payment is before the start of classes, in accordance with the agreement provided to you during the online registration process.

However, please note that for visa application purposes, you may be required to submit a confirmation of tuition fee payment earlier. Therefore, we recommend completing the payment in advance if such confirmation is requested by the consulate.

Step 3

Check visa requirements and apply for your visa. In case of any questions do not hesitate to contact the Admission Team – study@poznan.merito.pl

Registering your residence

Upon arrival in Poland you are obliged to legalize your stay on the territory of our country (temporary residence permit – Karta Pobytu in Polish). For that purpose you should visit an appropriate voivodship office. The list of the voivodship offices can be found here.

Additionally you should register your temporary place of residence on the territory of Poland.

  • If you are staying in a dormitory you should collect an appropriate document from the dormitory’s administration and then fill it out and submit it to the Voivodship Office. Remember to take your passport with you.
  • If you are staying in a rented apartment you should conclude a tenancy agreement of the apartment or you should fill out a special form with the landlord’s agreement for you to have temporary residence there.

PESEL number

PESEL number (Powszechny Elektroniczny System Ewidencji Ludności - Universal Electronic Population Registration System) - it is a Polish numbering system that identifies every person registered in Poland. The PESEL number consists of 11 digits and contains basic information about the person's date of birth and gender.

For foreigners in Poland, the PESEL number is also important because it is used to uniquely identify foreigners in administrative and official systems, it is required when using many public services (such as health care, the education system), and it is often required when opening a bank account.
